The Hôpital Européen Georges-Pompidou (HEGP) is a big hospital in Paris, France. Its name means Georges Pompidou European Hospital.
This hospital is part of a large group called Assistance publique - Hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP). This group manages many public hospitals in Paris.

About the Georges Pompidou Hospital
The HEGP opened in 2001. It is one of the newest hospitals in Paris. It was created by combining three older hospitals. These were Boucicaut Hospital, Broussais Hospital, and Laënnec Hospital. They were all located in the 15th district of Paris. The main architect who designed the hospital was Aymeric Zublena.
Where is the Hospital Located?
The HEGP is in the southwestern part of the 15th arrondissement. This area is near a city entrance called the Porte de Sèvres.
It is easy to get to the hospital using public transport. You can take the Métro to the Balard station on Line 8. You can also use the RER C train or Tramway T3 to the Pont du Garigliano station. Several buses also stop nearby, like lines 42, 88, and 169.
What Makes this Hospital Special?
The Hôpital Européen Georges-Pompidou is very well-known. It is considered one of the best hospitals in Europe and even the world. This is especially true for its work with heart problems.
In 2013, a French professor named Alain Carpentier worked at this hospital. He helped create the first 100% artificial heart. This amazing device uses special materials and electronic sensors. A team at the hospital successfully put this artificial heart into a patient on December 18, 2013. This was a huge step forward in medicine.
