José Ignacio Bollaín Ochoa (born 6 October 1974), known to many as Iñaki, is a Spanish former footballer. He played as a right defender, a position on the football field that helps protect the goal.

Iñaki Bollaín's Football Journey

Iñaki was born in Santander, a city in Cantabria, Spain. He started his football career in the 1992–93 season. His first team was CD Laredo, a local club playing in the Tercera División, which is the fourth tier of Spanish football.

Early Career and First Big Steps

Just one year later, Iñaki moved up to Segunda División B. This is the third level of Spanish football. He joined a nearby team called Gimnástica de Torrelavega. He played 24 games for them and scored 1 goal.

In the summer of 1994, Iñaki joined Racing de Santander. This was a big step, as Racing played in La Liga, Spain's top football league.

Playing in La Liga

Iñaki made his first appearance in La Liga on 4 September 1994. He played the last 20 minutes of a game against Real Valladolid, which ended in a 0–0 draw. On 8 January 1995, he scored his first goal in the top league. It was the third goal in a 3–2 home win against Valencia CF. He played 79 games for Racing Santander and scored 3 goals during his time there.

Moving to Other Clubs

In December 1997, Iñaki moved to Levante UD. This team played in Segunda División, which is the second tier of Spanish football. In his first year, he played 20 matches. However, his team was relegated to a lower division that season.

After leaving Levante in the summer of 1999, Iñaki continued his career in the third and fourth levels of Spanish football. He played for many different teams, including:

  • Jerez CF
  • SD Noja (he played for them twice!)
  • Novelda CF
  • Burgos CF (he also played for them twice!)
  • CF Palencia
  • CD Laredo (returning to his first club)
  • Sangonera Atlético CF
  • Granada CF
  • CD Roquetas

Achieving Promotions

Iñaki helped two of his teams get promoted to a higher division.

  • With Granada CF, he helped them get promoted to the third division in the 2005–06 season.
  • With CD Roquetas, he helped them achieve promotion to the third division in the 2007–08 season.

Iñaki's career showed his dedication to football, playing for many clubs across different levels of Spanish leagues.
