Iñaki's Football Journey
Iñaki was born in Santander, a city in Cantabria, Spain. He started his professional football career in the 1992–93 season. His first team was CD Laredo, which played in the Tercera División, a lower football league.
Playing in Higher Leagues
A year later, Iñaki moved up to Segunda División B. He joined a nearby team called Gimnástica de Torrelavega. This was a step up in his career.
In the summer of 1994, Iñaki joined Racing de Santander. This was a big move because Racing de Santander played in La Liga. La Liga is the top football league in Spain.
First La Liga Game
On September 4, 1994, Iñaki played his first game in La Liga. He came into the game for the last 20 minutes. His team had a 0–0 draw at home against Real Valladolid.
A few months later, on January 8, 1995, he scored his first goal in La Liga. It was the third goal in a 3–2 home win against Valencia CF.
Moving to Other Teams
In December 1997, Iñaki moved to Levante UD. This team played in Segunda División, which is the second-highest league in Spain. In his first year, he played 20 matches. However, his team was moved down to a lower league that season.
After leaving Levante in 1999, Iñaki continued his career. He played for many different teams in the third and fourth levels of Spanish football. Some of these teams included:
- Jerez CF
- SD Noja (he played for them two different times)
- Novelda CF
- Burgos CF (he also played for them twice)
- CF Palencia
- CD Laredo (again)
- Sangonera Atlético CF
- Granada CF
- CD Roquetas
With Granada CF and CD Roquetas, Iñaki helped his teams get promoted. They moved up to the third division in 2006 and 2008.
