I Can Cook was a fun children's television series that taught kids how to cook. It was shown on the BBC channel CBBC from October 2009 to December 2012. The show was presented by Katy Ashworth.
Katy would show viewers how to make simple dishes. She also made cooking exciting by singing songs. Each episode focused on making just one dish. This dish could be either savoury (like a main meal) or sweet (like a dessert).

About the Show
Since I Can Cook was made for younger children, the recipes were always easy to follow. Some of the dishes even offered new twists on classic foods. For example, they might make a grape pizza instead of a regular one. This helped kids try new things.
What You Learn from I Can Cook
The show did more than just teach cooking. It also helped kids learn about where food comes from. Katy would often go to different places. She would show how key ingredients for the dish were grown or produced. This helped viewers understand the journey of their food.
Different Versions of the Show
Over the years, I Can Cook had a few different versions. Each version added something new and exciting to the show.
I Can Cook With You
In 2011, the series was called I Can Cook With You. In this version, Katy Ashworth traveled all around the United Kingdom. She had her own special van for cooking. Katy would cook in outdoor places. She also visited farms and other spots where food is made. This showed kids the whole process from farm to table.
I Can Cook on the Go
By 2012, the show changed its name again to I Can Cook on the Go. This version featured a brand new van named Horace. It also introduced fun puppet characters like "pinchy parrot" and wooden spoon puppets. However, the "Special Ingredient" segment, which showed where food came from, was not part of this season.
