Iberia is a small, quiet place in Brown County, in the U.S. state of Minnesota. It's known as an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and businesses that aren't officially a city or town with its own local government. Instead, it's usually managed by the county it's in.
A Look Back: Iberia's History
Iberia has a bit of history, even though it's a small place. Back in 1870, a post office was opened here. This was a really important place for people to send and receive letters and packages. It helped connect the community to the rest of the world.
However, the post office didn't stay open forever. It closed down in 1893. This often happened when communities changed or people moved to bigger towns nearby. The name "Iberia" comes from the Iberian Peninsula, which is a large piece of land in Europe where countries like Spain and Portugal are located.
