The Iberoamerican University Torreón (Universidad Iberoamericana Torreón) is a private university in Torreón, Mexico. It is part of a larger group of universities run by the Jesuits, a Catholic religious order. The university was started in 1982.

University History
The Jesuits first opened the Iberoamerican University in Mexico City in 1943. Later, they decided to open a campus in Torreón in 1982. The very first classes had 129 students. They studied subjects like Communication, Civil Engineering, and Theology.
In 1984, construction began on the university's current campus. The main buildings were finished between 1986 and 1993. In 1992, the buildings were even recognized for their attractive and useful design. Today, the campus covers about 20.3 hectares (about 50 acres). The buildings themselves take up about 2.5 hectares.
