Ibrahim Jaaber (born February 3, 1984) is a former professional basketball player. He was born in America but also became a citizen of Bulgaria. He played as a point guard or shooting guard and was 1.88 meters (6 feet 2 inches) tall. Ibrahim also played for the senior Bulgarian national basketball team.

Ibrahim Jaaber played college basketball at the University of Pennsylvania. He was a star player there.

He won the Ivy League Player of the Year award twice. This happened in his junior and senior years. He was one of the best players in the league.
Record-Breaking Steals
Ibrahim broke the Ivy League record for steals. He had 303 steals during his college career. Steals happen when a player takes the ball away from an opponent. He was one of the top players in the country for steals.
Leading the Quakers
Ibrahim, along with his teammate Mark Zoller, helped his team, the Penn Quakers, win three Ivy League titles in a row. These wins happened between his second and fourth years at college. He also played very well in the NCAA Tournament games. He scored many points against tough teams like Texas A&M and North Carolina. Ibrahim is remembered as one of the best players ever for the Quakers.

Professional Basketball Career
After college, Ibrahim Jaaber did not get picked by any NBA teams. However, he played for the Detroit Pistons' Summer League team in 2007.
Playing in Europe
He then signed a contract to play professionally in Greece for a team called Aigaleo. Later, he moved to the top European league, the EuroLeague, to play with Lottomatica Roma. In 2010, he played for the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA Summer League. In August 2010, he joined AJ Milano.
Leaving Žalgiris Kaunas
On January 30, 2013, Ibrahim Jaaber announced he was leaving his team, Žalgiris Kaunas. He said he was leaving for personal reasons. He also stated he would not play for any other European team. Ibrahim explained that his decision was based on his Islamic beliefs. He wrote a letter to the club saying he was willing to make this sacrifice because of his faith.
Community Involvement
Ibrahim Jaaber is now a youth director at IECPA (Jesus Son of Mary Mosque). He helps guide young people in the Muslim community.
Playing for His Country
Ibrahim Jaaber also played basketball for the senior men's Bulgarian national team. This allowed him to represent Bulgaria in international games.
