Ice Prince started writing rap songs in 1999. He would perform them at school events. By 2001, he began recording his own music. In 2002, he formed a group called "ECOMOG Squad" with some friends. The group broke up after about a year.
In 2004, he met other artists like M.I, Jesse Jagz, Ruby, and Lindsey. Together, they formed a group known as the "Loopy Crew".
Ice Prince named his first album Everybody Loves Ice Prince for a special reason. He shared that after he lost his mother, people from all over the world showed him so much love and support. When he returned to record his album, he felt that "Everybody Loves Ice Prince" was the perfect name because of all the kindness he had received.
His first single from the album, "Oleku", became a huge hit across Nigeria. It was released under the Chocolate City label. Ice Prince also featured on many other songs by different artists. These included "Respect My Hustle" with Banky W, "Super Sun (Remix)" with ELDee and Eva Alordiah, and "Efimile (Remix)" with Naeto C and M.I.
Second Album: Fire of Zamani (2012–2013)
In 2012, Ice Prince started working often with producer Chopstix. They released the song "Aboki" in the summer of 2012. A music video for "Aboki" was also released. The song reached number 92 on Afribiz's Top 100 chart.
On August 28, 2012, Ice Prince released "More" as the second single from his upcoming album. Chopstix also produced this song. The music video for "More" was filmed in London by Moe Musa. It featured Lola Rae, a British Nigerian singer. The video was first shown at the 2012 Channel O Music Video Awards.
On January 25, 2013, Ice Prince released "Aboki (Remix)". He called it the "biggest African collision ever" because it featured many artists. These included Sarkodie, Mercy Johnson, Wizkid, M.I, and Khuli Chana. On April 24, 2013, Ice Prince and Chocolate City released "Gimme Dat" and "V.I.P" at the same time. "Gimme Dat" made it onto the album, but "V.I.P" did not.
New Beginnings: Jos to the World and Super Cool Cats (2015–2016)
In 2015, Ice Prince started releasing singles from his third studio album. This album was his first independent project after his contract with Chocolate City ended. He shared that Universal Studio in the US mixed and mastered the album.
