Iceman (whose real name is Robert Louis "Bobby" Drake) is a cool superhero from Marvel Comics. He is one of the very first members of the famous X-Men team.
Bobby Drake was created by writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby. He first appeared in the comic book The X-Men #1 in September 1963.
Iceman is a mutant. This means he was born with special powers. He can control ice and cold by freezing the water vapor around him. This lets him freeze objects and even turn his own body into solid ice.
You can find Iceman in many X-Men and Spider-Man comics. He has also appeared in video games, cartoons, and movies. Actor Shawn Ashmore played Iceman in the X-Men movies. He also voiced the character in The Super Hero Squad Show.
Iceman's Amazing Powers
Iceman's powers have grown a lot over time. At first, he could look like a normal human or change into an ice form. When he was in his ice form, he became stronger and tougher.
Bobby can make his body temperature drop super low without getting hurt. He can reach temperatures as cold as -105 degrees Fahrenheit in just a few seconds! He can freeze any moisture in the air to create very strong ice.
He uses this ice to make things like:
- Ice-slides: He can create long, slippery paths of ice to travel very fast.
- Projectiles: He can throw sharp pieces of ice at enemies.
- Shields: He can form ice walls to protect himself or others.
Iceman is completely safe from freezing temperatures. He also has a special ability called thermal vision. This means he can see how much heat objects give off. He can use this to spot things that are hidden or to see in the dark.
He often shoots cold blasts from his hands. These blasts can cover an enemy in ice in just a few seconds!
