Igor Borisovich Moskvin (born August 30, 1929 – died November 10, 2020) was a famous Russian figure skating coach and competitor. He skated for the Soviet Union in pair skating with his partner Maya Belenkaya. He was known as an "Honoured Master of Sports" and an "Honored Coach" in the Soviet Union.

About Igor Moskvin's Life
Igor Moskvin was born in Bezhitsa, which is in the Bryansk Oblast, on August 30, 1929. In 1964, he married Tamara Moskvina, who was also a well-known figure skater and coach. They had two daughters named Olga and Anna. Igor and Tamara Moskvin lived in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Igor Moskvin passed away in November 2020 after an illness.
Igor Moskvin's Skating Career
Igor Moskvin competed as a pair skater for the Soviet Union. His skating partner was Maya Belenkaya. He was coached by Pyotr Orlov and Nina Leplinskaya. Besides figure skating, Igor Moskvin also loved yacht racing. He even won several sailing competitions in the 1950s. He earned the special title of "Honoured Master of Sports of the USSR" for his achievements.
Coaching Successes
After he stopped competing, Moskvin became a coach. He worked at different clubs in Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg). He received the title of "Honored Coach of the USSR" because of his great work. Igor Moskvin coached many famous figure skaters. Some of his students include:
- Ludmila Belousova and Oleg Protopopov
- Tamara Bratus (Moskvina) (his wife), who became a five-time Soviet champion. Moskvin started coaching her in 1957.
- Tamara Moskvina and Alexei Mishin
- Larisa Selezneva and Oleg Makarov, who won an Olympic bronze medal in 1984. They also became European champions twice.
- Igor Bobrin, who was a European champion. Moskvin coached Bobrin for 15 years, from 1965 to 1980.
- Igor Lisovsky
- Yuri Ovchinnikov, a Soviet champion.
- Vladimir Kotin, who won four European silver medals. He later became a coach too.
- Kyoko Ina and John Zimmerman, who won a World bronze medal in 2002.
Many of his students later became coaches themselves. Tamara Moskvina said that Igor could make people love coaching. Igor Moskvin mentioned that he and his wife were not rivals in coaching. He focused more on single skaters, while his wife focused on pair skaters.
