Iker Romero Fernández (born June 15, 1980) is a famous Spanish handball player who has now retired. He is currently the head coach for SG BBM Bietigheim.
Iker Romero was a key player for the Spain men's national handball team. He helped them win the World Men's Handball Championship in 2005. This big win happened in Tunisia.

Playing Career Highlights
Iker Romero started his professional handball journey in 1997. His first team was BM Valladolid. He quickly showed his talent on the court.
Early Club Success
In 2000, Iker joined Ademar León. With this team, he won the Spanish Championship in 2001. This was a major achievement early in his career.
After that, he moved to Ciudad Real in the same year. There, he continued to win important titles:
- The Copa del Rey in 2003.
- The EHF Cup Winners' Cup in both 2002 and 2003.
Time at FC Barcelona
In 2003, Iker Romero signed with FC Barcelona, one of the biggest clubs in handball. He spent eight successful years there. During his time with Barcelona, he won many championships:
- Spanish Championship in 2006 and 2007.
- Copa del Rey in 2004.
- European Supercup in 2004 and 2007.
- The prestigious EHF Champions League in 2005 and 2011.
Moving to Germany
In 2011, Iker moved to Germany to play for Füchse Berlin. He continued his winning ways there:

Since the 2021-22 season, Iker Romero has been the head coach of SG BBM Bietigheim. He is now leading his own team.
