Imad Muhammad Dib Khamis (Arabic: عماد محمد ديب خميس, romanized: ʿImād Muḥammad Dīb Khamīs; born 1 August 1961) is a Syrian politician. He served as the 67th Prime Minister of Syria from 2016 to 2020. Before that, he was the Minister of Electricity for Syria from 2011 to 2016.

Early Life and Education
Imad Khamis was born in a town called Saqba, which is near Damascus, on August 1, 1961.
He went to the University of Damascus. In 1981, he earned a degree in electrical engineering. This means he studied how electricity works and how to design electrical systems.
His Time as Prime Minister
Before becoming Prime Minister, Imad Khamis worked in the electricity sector. From 1987 to 2005, he managed different departments. These departments were part of the General Organization for power distribution.
From 2005 to 2008, he was the Director General of the electricity company for the Damascus Governorate. Later, in 2008, he became the Director-General of the Public Corporation for power distribution.
On July 3, 2016, Imad Khamis was chosen to be the Prime Minister of Syria. This happened after the 2016 Syrian parliamentary election. The Prime Minister is a very important leader in a country's government.
Challenges During His Term
During his time as Prime Minister, some challenges arose. The European Union placed sanctions on him in March 2012. Sanctions are like official penalties.
End of His Term
Imad Khamis was removed from his position on June 11, 2020. This decision was made by President Bashar al-Assad. His dismissal happened during a time of economic challenges in Syria. There were also some protests in the region.
However, shortly after his dismissal, Khamis was seen voting. This was during the 2020 Syrian parliamentary election.

Imad Khamis is married and has three children.
