Imani Hakim (born August 12, 1993) is an American actress. She is famous for playing Tonya Rock in the TV show Everybody Hates Chris. She also played the Olympic gymnast Gabby Douglas in a 2014 movie about her life called The Gabby Douglas Story. Imani has also been in movies like Chocolate City and Burning Sands. Right now, she stars in the Apple TV+ series Mythic Quest.

Imani Hakim's Acting Journey
Imani Hakim grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. She has five brothers, two older and three younger. When she was seven, she started learning acting at a theater in Cleveland called Karamu House.
At age 11, she convinced her parents to let her try acting professionally. She moved to Los Angeles with her father to find work. For a short time, they had to sleep in their car while looking for acting jobs. But soon, she got her first big role as Tonya, Chris's little sister, in the TV show Everybody Hates Chris.
This show ran for four seasons, from 2005 to 2009. While filming, Imani was homeschooled. She kept studying acting at schools in California, like Alexander's Workshop School.
Later, Imani played Olympic gymnast Gabby Douglas in a TV movie called The Gabby Douglas Story in 2014. The next year, she had a role in the movie Chocolate City.
Since 2020, she has played Dana, a video game tester, in the Apple TV+ comedy series Mythic Quest. This show has been renewed for more seasons. She also acted in the film Dinner Party in 2020.
