Indya Adrianna Moore (born January 17, 1995) is an American actor and model. They are famous for their role as Angel Evangelista in the TV show Pose. In 2019, Time magazine recognized them as one of the 100 most influential people in the world. Indya Moore is a transgender and non-binary person, which means they do not identify as only male or female. They use "they/them" and "she/her" pronouns.

Early Life and Beginnings
Indya Moore grew up in the Bronx, a part of New York City. Their family background includes Haitian, Puerto Rican, and Dominican roots. When they were 14, Indya left home and went into foster care. This was because their parents had difficulty understanding their identity.
During this time, Indya moved around a lot, living in different parts of New York City. They faced bullying and eventually left high school in their second year. At 15, Indya started working as a model. Later, they earned their General Equivalency Diploma, which is like a high school diploma.
Starting a Modeling Career
Indya Moore began modeling at age 15. They worked for big fashion brands like Dior and Gucci. Even though the fashion world first saw them as a risky choice, Indya found success.
However, Indya started to feel unhappy with the modeling industry. They felt it focused too much on how people looked. Indya then met a dancer named Jose Gutierez Xtravaganza. He encouraged them to try acting.
First Acting Roles
Jose Gutierez Xtravaganza helped Indya audition for an independent film called Saturday Church. Indya got the role of Dijon. The movie was shown at the Tribeca Film Festival and was praised by critics. It was released to the public in January 2018.
In 2017, Indya also walked in New York Fashion Week. They were featured in Vogue España magazine. That same year, Indya appeared in Katy Perry's music video for "Swish Swish". They also performed live with Katy Perry on Saturday Night Live.
