Ingram is found in the eastern part of Kerr County. It sits right on the Guadalupe River. This river is a big part of what makes Ingram special. It's the first city the Guadalupe River flows through after starting near Hunt.
How to Get to Ingram
Ingram is about 6 miles (10 km) west of Kerrville. It's also about 72 miles (116 km) northwest of San Antonio. You can get there by taking Texas State Highway 27. This highway goes right through the middle of town. Texas State Highway 39 also runs west from Ingram.
River Fun and Unique Sights
The city covers about 1.5 square miles (3.9 km²). A small part of this area is water. One of the best things to do in Ingram is swim in the Guadalupe River. The river runs right through the city.
A popular spot is the Ingram Dam. Water flows over this dam, creating a slick layer of algae below. People love to gather here to swim and even slide down the algae for fun!
You can also find a cool artistic copy of Stonehenge in Ingram. It's located on the grounds of the Hill Country Arts Foundation.
