Music in the Show
- Other article: Instant Star soundtracks
Each episode of Instant Star usually has a new song sung by Alexz Johnson. These songs often relate to what is happening in that episode. Sometimes, the lyrics might not directly explain the story, but they always fit the mood. While some episodes have more than one song, only one main song from each episode is chosen for the show's soundtrack album. Since there are 13 episodes per season, there are 13 main songs on each soundtrack.
A famous Canadian artist named Lights wrote one of the songs, "Perfect."
Alexz Johnson sang on the first and second soundtracks. She even helped write some songs with her brother, Brendan. For the third and fourth soundtracks, Alexz did not sing all the songs. This was because she was working on her own first album and had other music commitments.
Before the second season aired, fans could watch a special concert called Instant Star: Backstage Pass. In this show, Alexz Johnson performed songs from the series with her band, Spiederman Mind Explosion.
