Tatiana Gabriele Maslany (born September 22, 1985) is a Canadian actress. She became very famous for playing many different characters in the science-fiction TV show Orphan Black (2013–2017). For her amazing work on that show, she won a Primetime Emmy Award in 2016. She also won five Canadian Screen Awards between 2014 and 2018. Tatiana Maslany was the first Canadian actress to win an Emmy in a main acting category for a Canadian TV series.
Tatiana has also been in other TV shows like Heartland (2008–2010) and The Nativity (2010). More recently, she starred as Jennifer Walters / She-Hulk in the Disney+ series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (2022). Her notable films include The Vow (2012), Woman in Gold (2015), and Stronger (2017). She won a Canadian Screen Award for Best Actress for her role in the movie The Other Half (2016).

Early Life and Education
Tatiana Maslany was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. Her dad, Daniel, was a woodworker, and her mom, Renate, was a translator. She has two younger brothers, Daniel and Michael. Daniel is also an actor, and Michael is an animator. Tatiana's family background includes Austrian, German, Polish, Romanian, and Ukrainian roots.
When she was young, Tatiana went to a French immersion school. Her mother taught her German before she learned English. Her grandparents also spoke German to her. She can speak some Spanish too. Tatiana started dancing when she was four years old. By age nine, she was performing in community theater and musicals.
She went to Dr. Martin LeBoldus High School. There, she took part in school plays and improvisation groups. She finished high school in 2003. While still in high school, she found acting jobs that paid well. With her parents' permission, she traveled across Canada for these jobs. She would work for a few months, then return to school in Regina.
After high school, she took a year off. Then, she went to the University of Regina. She studied German, Ancient Greek, Philosophy, Psychology, and film. However, she left after only half a semester. She spent some time doing theater and traveling. Eventually, she moved to Toronto, Ontario, when she was 20 years old.
Acting Career Highlights

Tatiana Maslany was one of the main actors in the Canadian TV show 2030 CE in 2002. In 2004, she played the character Ghost in the film Ginger Snaps 2: Unleashed. She also performed comedic improvisation for ten years. She was part of the General Fools Improvisational Theatre. She is even a certified improvisation trainer.
In 2007, Maslany appeared in the movie The Messengers. She also had a recurring role for three seasons on the CBC series Heartland. In 2008, she was in Instant Star and voiced Tatiana in Eastern Promises. She also had a main role in the Hallmark Channel movie An Old Fashioned Thanksgiving. In September 2008, she played a kidnapping victim in the Canadian series Flashpoint.
Maslany was in the second season of Being Erica in 2010. That same year, she played Mary, the mother of Jesus, in the British TV series The Nativity. Her role in Grown Up Movie Star earned her a special award at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival. In 2012, she played Claire in Picture Day. For this role, she won an award at the 2012 Whistler Film Festival. She also played Sister Meir in the mini-series World Without End.

From 2013 to 2017, Maslany starred in the TV series Orphan Black. She played the main character, Sarah Manning, and many of her clones. This meant she had to play several different people who looked exactly alike but had unique personalities. She won two Critics' Choice Television Awards and one TCA Award for her work on the show. She was also nominated for a Golden Globe Award and an Emmy Award in 2015. She won the Emmy in 2016. The Guardian newspaper praised her acting in Orphan Black, calling it "Olympic-level acting." In 2013, Maslany also appeared in two episodes of Parks and Recreation. She also starred in the film Cas and Dylan, winning another award at the 2013 Whistler Film Festival.
In 2015, Maslany co-starred in the film Woman in Gold. She played a younger version of Maria Altmann, the character played by Helen Mirren. She mostly spoke German in this movie.
Maslany starred in the independent film The Other Half in 2016. She also played the main role in the 2016 drama film Two Lovers and a Bear. In the 2017 film Stronger, Maslany played Erin Hurley. Erin was the girlfriend of Jeff Bauman, a victim of the Boston Marathon bombing.
In 2018, she starred in the crime thriller film Destroyer. She also performed on Broadway in the play Network in 2019. Maslany played Sister Alice in the HBO miniseries Perry Mason, which came out in June 2020. In September 2020, Maslany was chosen for the main role of Jennifer Walters / She-Hulk for the Disney+ TV series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. This show is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
