International Humanist and Ethical Union facts for kids
The International Humanist and Ethical Union (IHEU) is a worldwide group. It connects many organizations that believe in humanist ideas. These groups also include those who are atheist, rationalist, secular, skeptic, and believe in freethought and Ethical Culture.
The IHEU started in 1952 in Amsterdam. A British thinker named Julian Huxley helped create it. He was also the first head of UNESCO. A Dutch politician, Jaap van Praag, was its first chairman until 1975.

World Humanist Congress
The IHEU usually holds a big meeting called the World Humanist Congress every three years. People from humanist groups all over the world come together. They discuss important topics and plan for the future. The next meeting was planned for 2020 in Miami, United States.
