Inuvik Boot Lake is a special area, called an electoral district, in the territorial government of the Northwest Territories, Canada. It's like a voting zone where people choose someone to represent them. This person becomes a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA). They help make decisions for the whole territory.
Together with Inuvik Twin Lakes, Inuvik Boot Lake is one of two electoral districts that represent the town of Inuvik. Both of these areas were created in 1999. Before that, there was just one large "Inuvik" voting area.

A Look at Its History
The Legislative Assembly of the Northwest Territories works a bit differently from other governments in Canada. It uses a system called consensus government. This means there are no political parties. Instead, the people elected work together to make decisions.
For a while, voters in Inuvik Boot Lake didn't get to cast a ballot in every election. In both the 2003 and 2007 elections, only one person ran for the job. This person was Floyd Roland. When only one candidate runs, they are automatically chosen without a vote. This is called acclamation. So, the first time people actually voted in this district after 1999 was in the 2011 election.
