Playing Water Polo in College
Ioanna Haralabidis went to the University of Southern California (USC). She played on the women's water polo team there. Her college career lasted from 2014 to 2017. A big highlight was winning the NCAA championship in 2016. This was a major achievement for her and her team.
Playing for Her Country
Ioanna has played water polo for Greece on the international stage. She competed for both the junior and senior national teams. She won several gold medals during her junior career:
- A gold medal at the 2011 European Junior Championship in Madrid, Spain.
- Another gold at the 2012 Youth World Championships in Perth, Australia.
- A gold at the 2014 European U19 Championship in Ostia, Italy.
She also earned a bronze medal with the senior Greek team. This was at the 2012 FINA Water Polo World League event in Changshu, China.
Playing for Clubs
Ioanna also plays for professional water polo clubs. For the 2021-2022 season, she played for Ethnikos. This club has a long history in Greek and European water polo. Ioanna and her twin sister, Stephania Haralabidis, helped Ethnikos win the 2021-2022 LEN Trophy. This is a big European competition for water polo clubs.
