The Iowa Aviation Museum is a cool place located at the Greenfield Municipal Airport in Greenfield, Iowa. It's all about keeping the history of flying in Iowa alive! The museum also has the Iowa Aviation Hall of Fame. This special hall honors people from Iowa who have done amazing things to help aviation grow.

The Iowa Aviation Museum has eleven different airplanes on display. Some of these are very rare and old, from the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s. It's like a time capsule for planes! Here are some of the aircraft you can see:

Iowa Aviation Hall of Fame
The Iowa Aviation Hall of Fame started in 1990, even before the museum officially opened. It's a special place to remember Iowans who made a big difference in aviation.
How People Get Into the Hall of Fame
People can suggest names for the Hall of Fame until February 1st each year. A special group chosen by the museum's leaders looks at all the suggestions. They use a point system to decide who gets in. Each person chosen gets a permanent tribute at the museum. This museum is the only place in Iowa that focuses on the state's amazing aviation history!
Hall of Fame Inductees by Year
Here are some of the incredible people who have been honored in the Iowa Aviation Hall of Fame:
1990 Inductees
- Ann Holtgren Pellegreno: She was the first woman to be a Commissioner for both the Iowa Aeronautics Commission and the Iowa Department of Transportation.
- John and Yvonne Schildberg: John loved old airplanes. Because of his passion and Yvonne's kindness, they gave ten antique planes to Greenfield. This gift helped start the Iowa Aviation Museum!
- John Wesley Cable: He built the first airport in Waterloo, Iowa back in 1927.
- William "Billy" Robinson
- Wyman Fiske Marshall: He was part of the "Three Musketeers," the first aerobatic flying team in the United States from 1928 to 1929. He also became a United States Marine Corps Brigadier General.
