Irina Dvorovenko (born August 28, 1973) is a talented former ballet dancer and an actress. She was a main dancer, called a principal dancer, with the famous American Ballet Theatre.

Early Life and Training

Irina Dvorovenko was born in Kyiv, Ukraine. Both of her parents were dancers. She first started with gymnastics. Then, at the age of ten, she began her ballet training. She attended the Kyiv Ballet School.

Ballet Career

Starting in Ukraine

In 1990, Irina Dvorovenko joined the National Opera and Ballet Theatre of Kyiv. She started as a soloist, which is a dancer who performs alone or with a small group. By 1992, she was promoted to a principal dancer. This is the highest rank a ballet dancer can achieve.

Dancing in America

In 1996, Dvorovenko moved to the United States. She joined the American Ballet Theatre (ABT). The next year, she became a soloist there. By 2000, she was promoted to a principal dancer at ABT. She performed many important roles with the company. These included Odette/Odile in Swan Lake and Aurora in The Sleeping Beauty. She also danced as Kitri in Don Quixote.

Retirement from ABT

In May 2013, Irina Dvorovenko retired from the American Ballet Theatre. Her last performance was as Tatiana in Onegin. After retiring, she planned to perform as a guest artist with other companies.

Coaching Young Dancers

Today, Dvorovenko coaches younger dancers at ABT. She works alongside her husband, Maxim Beloserkovsky. They have helped dancers like Skylar Brandt prepare for big roles. Irina also runs a special ballet training program with her husband.

Acting Career

First Acting Roles

After her ballet career, Irina Dvorovenko started acting. In May 2013, she made her acting debut. She played Vera Baronova in a show called On Your Toes in New York City. Her performance received good reviews.

Television Appearances

In 2015, Dvorovenko starred in a TV series called Flesh and Bone. She played Kiira, an older main ballerina. The show's dances were created by Ethan Stiefel, who used to dance with Dvorovenko at ABT.

In 2017, Dvorovenko appeared in the fifth season of the TV show The Americans. She played a character named Evgheniya Morozova. She also appeared in other TV series. These include Forever, The Blacklist, and Power.

Stage and Film

In March 2018, Dvorovenko returned to the stage. She played Elizaveta Grushinskaya in a musical called Grand Hotel. She is also set to star in an upcoming movie called Verity.

Irina Dvorovenko is married to Maxim Beloserkovsky. He was also a principal dancer at the American Ballet Theatre. They have a daughter named Emma Galina, who was born in 2005. Irina Dvorovenko is now an American citizen.
