Irina Rimes (born Irina Rîmeș on August 22, 1991) is a talented singer and songwriter from Moldova. She has become one of the most popular music artists in both Romania and Moldova. Irina is also one of the four coaches on the Romanian TV show Vocea României, which is like "The Voice" in other countries. She lives and works in cities like Bucharest, Chișinău, and Paris.
In 2019, Warner Bros Animation chose Irina Rimes to be the Romanian voice of Whatevra Wanabi in the animated movie The Lego Movie 2. Besides her native Romanian, she can also speak Russian, English, and French.

Early Life and Music Beginnings
Irina Rimes was born on August 22, 1991. She grew up in the Florești District of Moldova. Her parents are Valentina and Fiodor Rîmeș, and she has a younger brother named Vitali. Irina often shares that her family, especially her father and grandmother, really encouraged her love for music. Her grandmother had a beautiful voice and would sing carols.
Irina showed an interest in writing and composing from a very young age. She started writing poetry even before she began school. She remembers learning to sing, write, and read at home. She later moved to Soroca for high school and then studied at the Academy of Music, Theater and Plastic Arts in Chișinău. In 2012, Irina took part in a talent show called Fabrica de staruri and made it to the finals.
Rise to Fame and Music Career
In 2016, Irina Rimes moved to Romania and signed with Quantum Music. This was a big step in her career. Her first song, "Visele" (which means The dreams), quickly became a huge hit. It reached number one on the Romanian Airplay 100 chart in 2016. Because of this success, she won an award for the best new artist at the Radio România Music Awards in 2017.
Irina is not only a singer but also a gifted songwriter. She has written songs for many other famous Romanian artists, including Inna, Andra, and Alina Eremia. The Romanian version of Cosmopolitan magazine even called her the "revelation of 2016." In 2017, she signed a contract with Universal Music France and released her first album, Despre el (meaning About him).
In 2018, Irina Rimes joined the popular TV show Vocea României as one of the coaches. This made her even more well-known. In 2019, she was featured on the cover of Turkey's biggest digital music magazine, ÖMC Dergi (Dergi). During the Covid-19 pandemic, Irina started learning French and even wrote songs in French. In 2023, she released her first French song, "Changer," and performed it in France. On June 29, 2024, Irina released her latest album, "Origini."
