Irving is a small village located in Montgomery County, Illinois, United States. It is a quiet place with a population of 373 people, according to the 2020 census. This number was a bit higher in 2010, when 495 people lived there.

Where is Irving, Illinois?
Irving is found in the east-central part of Montgomery County. It sits right along Illinois Route 16, which is an important road in the area.
The village of Hillsboro is about 6 miles (10 km) to the southwest. Hillsboro is the main town in the county. Another village called Witt is about 5 miles (8 km) to the northeast of Irving.
Irving's Land and Water
The U.S. Census Bureau says that Irving covers an area of about 0.90 square miles (2.32 square kilometers). All of this area is land. There are no large lakes or rivers directly within the village limits.
Water from Irving flows west into a small stream called Little Creek. This creek eventually joins the Middle Fork of Shoal Creek. Shoal Creek is part of a larger river system that flows into the Kaskaskia River.
