Isaac Cole Powell (born December 30, 1994) is an American actor and singer. He is famous for his roles in Broadway musicals. He played Daniel in the musical Once on This Island. He also starred as Tony in the 2020 Broadway show West Side Story.

Early Life and Acting Start
Isaac grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina. He is the youngest of three children. His father, Will Powell, is a three-time world CrossFit champion. Isaac's father is Afro-Indigenous, and his mother is white. His sister, Jessica Powell, is a certified personal trainer. She works at their father's fitness studio.
Isaac started acting in middle school. He performed with the Community Theatre of Greensboro. He went to Philip J. Weaver Academy, a performing arts high school. Later, he transferred to a special program at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA). He graduated from UNCSA in May 2017 with an acting degree.
Professional Acting Career
While still in college, Isaac began getting professional acting jobs. He played Nikos in the musical Legally Blonde. This show was at the Barn Dinner Theatres. After graduating in 2017, he performed in Newsies and Mamma Mia!. These shows were with the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera. He also played the main role in Nikola Tesla Drops the Beat at the Adirondack Theatre Festival.
Broadway Success
Isaac played Daniel in the 2017 Broadway revival of Once on This Island. The show started previews in November 2017 and officially opened in December. Critics praised his performance. Jesse Green from The New York Times called his solo song, "Some Girls," "quietly sensitive." Robert Hofler from TheWrap said Isaac made the song "the most poignant moment." TheaterMania's review called him "charismatic and silvery-voiced." He also recorded his role on the show's cast album.
In May 2018, Isaac competed on the Broadway game show I Only Have Lies for You. He also started modeling in 2018. He signed with the New Pandemics modeling agency. He modeled for Palomo Spain's and NIHL's fall 2019 collections. This was during New York Fashion Week. Isaac has said that modeling is a new experience for him. He has been featured in many publications.
Isaac played Tony in the 2020 Broadway revival of West Side Story. The show was directed by Ivo van Hove. It began previews in December 2019 and opened in February 2020. The show closed early in March 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Film and Television Roles
In November 2020, Isaac was cast in the film Dear Evan Hansen. This movie was based on the popular musical. He played a new character named Rhys, a high school jock.
On August 29, 2021, Isaac was featured in a special concert for the musical Wicked. This concert was shown on the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS). It was hosted by Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel. Isaac performed alongside many other famous artists.
