In 2005, Professor Peretz helped start an important research center. It's called the International Laboratory for Brain, Music, and Sound Research (BRAMS). This center works with both McGill University and the Université de Montréal. It brings together many experts to study music and the brain.

She also works as a chief editor for a science magazine section. It's called Frontiers in Auditory Cognitive Neuroscience. This means she helps decide which new research papers get published.

Isabelle Peretz has received many important awards for her work. In 2008, she became a fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. This is a big honor for top Canadian researchers.
