Isaiah Whitehead (born March 8, 1995) is an American professional basketball player. He currently plays for King Szczecin in the Polish Basketball League (PLK). Isaiah played college basketball for Seton Hall. He also played for the Brooklyn Nets in the NBA from 2016 to 2018.

Early Basketball Days
Isaiah Whitehead became well-known for playing basketball at Abraham Lincoln High School in Brooklyn. He was a very talented player and many colleges wanted him to join their teams.
High School Star
During high school, Isaiah played in several important games. These included the 2014 McDonald's All-American Boys Game and the 2014 Jordan Brand Classic. Experts like Rivals.com and 247Sports.com rated him as a top player. He was even named Mr. New York Basketball in 2014. This award goes to the best high school basketball player in New York.
College Success
Isaiah went on to play college basketball for Seton Hall. Even before his first game, he was named the Big East Rookie of the Year. He also made the All-Rookie Team as a freshman. He won Rookie of the Week twice in December 2014.
In his second year, Isaiah was chosen for the All-Big East first team. He also won the Haggerty Award, which is given to the best college player in the New York area. Isaiah helped Seton Hall win their first Big East Championship in 23 years. They beat strong teams like Creighton, Xavier, and Villanova. He was named the Most Outstanding Player of the tournament.
After this success, Seton Hall played in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 10 years. In March 2016, Isaiah decided to enter the NBA draft. This meant he would leave college early to become a professional player.
Playing in the NBA
On June 23, 2016, the Utah Jazz picked Isaiah Whitehead in the NBA draft. He was the 42nd player chosen overall. The very next day, he was traded to his hometown team, the Brooklyn Nets.
Brooklyn Nets (2016–2018)
Isaiah signed with the Nets on July 8, 2016. He then joined the team for the 2016 NBA Summer League. On January 6, 2017, Isaiah achieved his first career double-double. This means he had 10 points and 10 rebounds in one game.
On March 10, 2017, he scored a career-high 24 points in a game against the Dallas Mavericks. Later that season, he tied a team record for guards with 36 blocks in a single season. This record was set back in 1980–81.
During the 2017–18 season, Isaiah sometimes played for the Long Island Nets. This team is part of the NBA G League, which is like a development league for the NBA. He was later traded to the Denver Nuggets but was then released. In the G League, he averaged 22.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game.
Playing Around the World
After his time in the NBA, Isaiah Whitehead began playing basketball internationally. He has played for several teams in different countries.
- Russia: In 2018, he signed with Lokomotiv Kuban in Russia.
