Ismaël Bangoura (born on January 2, 1985) is a former professional footballer from Guinea. He played as a forward, which means he was usually trying to score goals. Sometimes, he also played as a winger or an attacking midfielder.

Ismaël Bangoura's Football Journey
Starting His Club Career
Ismaël Bangoura started playing football at a local team called Athlético de Coléah. Scouts from a French amateur club, Gazélec Ajaccio, noticed his talent. He joined the team in Corsica and scored 15 goals in 44 games.
In 2005, he moved to Le Mans, a team in France's top league, Ligue 1. He played his first game on November 5, 2005, against Marseille. He even scored a goal in that game, helping his team win 3–0! In his first season, he played 23 games and scored six goals. During the 2006–07 season, he was the top scorer for Le Mans with 12 goals.
Playing for Dynamo Kyiv
On July 5, 2007, Bangoura signed a five-year contract with Dynamo Kyiv in Ukraine. He quickly became a favorite among the fans because he was great at scoring goals. He was known for celebrating goals with his teammate, Pape Diakhaté, by doing an African dance.
Playing for Dynamo Kyiv gave Ismaël a chance to play in big European tournaments, like the UEFA Champions League in 2007–08. He scored three goals in three games. One amazing goal was a 25-yard shot against Manchester United on October 23, 2007. He also scored two goals against Shakhtar Donetsk in a 2–1 win on November 11, 2007.
In the UEFA Cup, he scored a goal against Paris Saint-Germain. This helped Dynamo Kyiv reach the semi-finals, where they were eventually knocked out by Shakhtar Donetsk.
Time at Stade Rennais
On July 2, 2009, Bangoura joined Rennes, another French club, on a four-year deal. He made his first appearance for Rennes on August 8, 2009. He scored a fantastic overhead kick in a 3–0 victory against Boulogne.
Moving to Al Nasr SC
Ismaël Bangoura moved to Al Nasr SC in Dubai on September 2, 2010. He signed a four-year contract. He scored his first goal for them on September 16, 2010, in a 3–1 win. In the 2010–11 season, he scored 10 goals in 17 league matches.
In 2012, he decided to leave the club temporarily to play in the African Nations Cup. This meant he would be away for almost two months. Al Nasr agreed, but they decided to replace him with other players because he would be gone for too long.
Playing for FC Nantes
Bangoura joined FC Nantes in France on January 31, 2012. He signed a two-and-a-half-year contract. Later, he also played for Umm Salal in Qatar for a short time on loan.
Later Club Teams
In January 2016, Ismaël Bangoura signed with Al-Raed, a club in the Saudi Professional League. He played there until July 2019. After that, he played for Al-Batin on loan. He then moved to Mulhouse in France and later to Al-Taraji in Saudi Arabia.
International Matches
Ismaël Bangoura was an important player for the Guinea national football team. He played in the Africa Cup of Nations in 2006, where Guinea reached the quarter-finals. He also represented Guinea in the tournament in 2008 and 2012.
In 2015, he chose not to join Guinea's squad for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations so he could focus on his club career.
