Itaska Beach is a small, special kind of village in Alberta, Canada. It's called a summer village because many people only live there during the warmer months, like a vacation spot! Itaska Beach is located right on the northwest shore of Pigeon Lake, which is west of a town called Wetaskiwin.
What's in a Name?
The name Itaska Beach comes from the Cree words ispâskweyâw (pronounced: is-PAS-kway-yaw). These words mean "high trees on the edge of woods," which sounds like a beautiful place!
How Many People Live Here?
Let's talk about how many people live in Itaska Beach!
In 2021, a count called the Census of Population found that 30 people lived in Itaska Beach. They lived in 14 homes out of 73 total houses in the village.
