Ivette Marilú Vergara Ulloa (born on 26 February 1972) is a Chilean journalist and television presenter. She started her TV journey as a model in 1991. Later, she became a presenter. Her first big role was at TVN on shows like Hugo. Today, she works for the channel Mega. There, she is part of the morning show Mucho gusto.

About Ivette Vergara's Life

Ivette Vergara is the daughter of Aquiles Vergara Muñoz. He was a former army captain.

She really loves sports, especially volleyball. She even played for the team at San Sebastián University.

Vergara married businessman Sergio Kozak in 1996. They later divorced. In 2001, she married sports reporter and journalist Fernando Solabarrieta. They have three children together: Nicolás, Iñaki, and Maite.

Ivette Vergara's TV Career

At 17, in 1990, Ivette won the "Miss Paula" beauty contest. In 1992, she appeared in a music video. It was for the song "No te portes mal [es]" by the Argentine group GIT [es]. At the same time, she was studying Food Technology at the University of Santiago.

Early TV Roles

In 1993, she was on La Red's music show Top 30. This show was later hosted by Rafael Araneda. She also had a small role in the telenovela Marrón glacé [es].

In 1994, Vergara joined TVN as a journalist. There, she helped create the music video program Telekinesis. Her first time as a main presenter was in 1995. This was for the program Hugo, where she stayed until 1997. From 1998 to 2003, she hosted the variety show Día a día.

Working at Chilevisión

From 2006 to 2010, she worked as a reporter for the Chilevisión morning show Gente como tú [es]. This show was led by Leo Caprile [es]. At the same TV station, she also hosted the Festival del Huaso de Olmué.

New Challenges and Mega

In November 2010, she became the director of Mujeres primero [es] on La Red. In 2012, she hosted the TVN travel program La Ruta de Gengis Khan. She did this with Ricardo Astorga [es].

In 2013, Vergara moved to Mega. She started as a reporter for the program A Viva Voz. Later that year, she joined the team of Mega's morning show, Mucho gusto. She worked alongside Luis Jara and Kathy Salosny. She was also asked to host the Dichato Festival [es].

She joined Mega's Sports Department. This allowed her to be with her husband Fernando Solabarrieta. They worked together during the broadcast of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
