Iwona Chmielewska (born in 1960) is a talented writer and artist from Poland. She creates amazing books, mostly for children, but also some for adults. About Iwona Chmielewska
Iwona Chmielewska was born on February 5, 1960, in a town called Pabianice. She went to the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń to study graphic design, which is all about creating visual art and designs.
Her first book was published in South Korea in 1990. Since then, she has published more than 20 books there! Many of her books have been translated so people in other countries can read them too.
Awards and Recognition
Iwona Chmielewska has won some really important awards for her work. She received the Bologna Ragazzi Award twice (in 2011 and 2013) from the famous Bologna Children's Book Fair. This award celebrates the best children's books in the world. She also won the Golden Apple at the Biennial of Illustration in Bratislava in 2007. This shows how much her art is loved and respected!
