Izet Hajrović (born on August 4, 1991) is a former professional football player. He was a winger, which means he played on the sides of the field. Izet was born in Switzerland but played for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.
Izet Hajrović began his professional football journey at Grasshoppers. In 2014, he moved to Galatasaray in Turkey. Later that year, he joined Werder Bremen in Germany. He was loaned to Eibar in Spain in 2015. In 2018, he signed with Dinamo Zagreb in Croatia. His last club was Aris in Greece, which he joined in 2021.
Before playing for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Izet played for Switzerland's youth teams. He even played one senior game for Switzerland. In 2013, he decided to play for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Izet Hajrović's Club Career
Starting Out in Football
Izet Hajrović started playing football at local clubs. In 2000, he joined the youth academy of Grasshoppers. He played his first professional game for Grasshoppers on October 3, 2009. He was 18 years old at the time. In 2010, he scored his first two professional goals in a match against FC Béroche-Gorgier. A year later, in 2011, he scored his first hat-trick (three goals in one game) against FC Töss.
Playing for Galatasaray
In January 2014, Izet Hajrović moved to the Turkish club Galatasaray. He played his first official game for them on February 2 against Bursaspor. A few days later, on February 5, he scored his first goal for Galatasaray. This goal was in a Turkish Cup match against Tokatspor.
Izet also played in the UEFA Champions League for Galatasaray. He played against Chelsea on February 26. On May 7, he won his first trophy with Galatasaray. They won the Turkish Cup by beating Eskişehirspor in the final.
Time at Werder Bremen
In July 2014, Izet Hajrović signed a four-year contract with the German team Werder Bremen. He made his first game for them on August 17 in a DFB-Pokal (German Cup) match. He even scored a goal in that game. A week later, he played his first league game for Werder Bremen. On April 26, 2015, he scored his first league goal against SC Paderborn.
In August 2015, Izet was loaned to the Spanish team Eibar for a season.
In December 2016, he got a serious knee injury. Doctors said it was an anterior cruciate ligament tear. This meant he could not play for at least six months. He returned to playing football on September 1, 2017, more than eight months after his injury.
Joining Dinamo Zagreb
In January 2018, Izet Hajrović moved to the Croatian team Dinamo Zagreb. He signed a deal until June 2019. He played his first official game for them on February 10 against Osijek. On April 4, he scored his first goal for Dinamo Zagreb. This was in a Croatian Cup game against Rijeka. On May 20, he won his first title with the club. Dinamo Zagreb became league champions that day. On February 2, 2019, he scored two goals against Rudeš. These were his first league goals for Dinamo Zagreb.
In July 2019, he signed a new contract with the team. This contract kept him with Dinamo Zagreb until June 2021.
Playing for Aris
In June 2021, Izet Hajrović joined the Greek team Aris. He signed a three-year contract with them. He played his first competitive game for Aris on July 22. This was a UEFA Conference League qualifier against Astana. Seven weeks later, he played his first league game for Aris against OFI.
Izet Hajrović's International Career

Izet Hajrović played for Switzerland's youth teams first. He then made his senior international debut for Switzerland on November 14, 2012. This was in a friendly game against Tunisia. However, in July 2013, he decided he wanted to play for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In August 2013, FIFA approved his request to change which country he played for. Later that month, he was called up to play for Bosnia and Herzegovina. This was for the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Slovakia. He played his first game for Bosnia and Herzegovina on September 6. On September 10, in the away game against Slovakia, Izet scored his first international goal. This goal helped his team win the match.
In June 2014, Izet Hajrović was chosen to be part of Bosnia and Herzegovina's team for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. This was the first major tournament for the country. He played his first game in the tournament on June 15. It was the opening group match against Argentina.
