Jérémie Aliadière (born March 30, 1983) is a French former professional footballer. He played as a striker, which means he was mainly focused on scoring goals.
Jérémie started his football journey at a famous French academy called Clairefontaine. He then joined the well-known English club Arsenal when he was just 16 years old.
During his career, he played for several clubs. These included Celtic in Scotland, and West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers in England. He later returned to Arsenal for another season.
In 2007, he moved to Middlesbrough. Later, he played for Lorient in France from 2011 to 2014, and then again in 2016.

Club Career Highlights
Starting at Arsenal
Jérémie joined Arsenal in 1999 when he was 16. He made his first team debut in the Premier League in the 2001–02 season. He came on as a substitute for the legendary Thierry Henry in a 4–1 win against Fulham.
He scored his first goal for Arsenal in August 2002 against West Bromwich Albion. In the 2003–04 season, he mostly played in the League Cup. He scored four goals in that competition, helping Arsenal reach the semi-finals. He was even voted the best young talent in the League Cup that season.
Arsenal won the Premier League title in 2004, and Jérémie played enough games to earn a winner's medal. He also played in the FA Cup semi-final and even helped set up a goal in a big Champions League win against Inter Milan.
Loan Spells
In 2005, Jérémie was loaned to Celtic in Scotland. The idea was for him to get more playing time. However, he only made two brief appearances for the club.
He then moved back to England, joining West Ham United on loan. Injuries affected his time there, and he played only eight games. After that, he was loaned to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Championship league. He scored two goals for them before returning to Arsenal.
Back at Arsenal
Jérémie returned to Arsenal for the 2006–07 season. He continued to play mainly in the League Cup, scoring important goals. He scored twice against West Brom and also in the quarter-final against Liverpool. Arsenal reached the final but lost to Chelsea.
He was linked with a move to Middlesbrough in January 2007. However, an injury to another Arsenal player meant he had to stay. He made his final appearance for Arsenal at the end of that season.
Time at Middlesbrough

Jérémie signed for Middlesbrough in June 2007 for about £2 million. He scored his first Premier League goal for them against Manchester United in October 2007. He also scored against his old club Arsenal and in a huge 8–1 win against Manchester City.
In 2008, he received a red card for an incident during a match against Liverpool. This led to a ban from playing. In the 2008–09 season, he continued to score important goals, including another one against Arsenal. However, Middlesbrough was relegated from the Premier League at the end of that season.
He left Middlesbrough in 2010 after three seasons. He had played 86 games and scored 12 goals for the club. After leaving, he trained with West Ham but got injured. His former club Middlesbrough even offered him their training facilities to help him recover.
Moving to Lorient
In July 2011, Jérémie signed with Ligue 1 club Lorient in France. His former manager, Arsène Wenger, even helped him with the move. He quickly made an impact, scoring two goals in a 3–0 win against Saint-Étienne.
He signed a new three-year deal with Lorient in November 2011. In the 2012–13 season, he continued his strong form. He scored in a 2–2 draw against Paris Saint-Germain and helped Lorient earn a point against Ajaccio by scoring two goals.
He also scored from a penalty against Marseille in a 3–0 win. Jérémie was linked with a move back to England in January 2013, but he stayed with Lorient. He enjoyed playing for manager Christian Gourcuff, praising his football vision.
Playing in Qatar
In July 2014, Jérémie moved to the Qatari club Umm Salal. He played there for two seasons.
Second Spell at Lorient
Jérémie returned to Lorient in September 2016. He played for them until the end of the 2016–17 season. He officially retired from playing football in 2018.
International Career
Jérémie Aliadière played for the France national under-21 team. He made five appearances for them and scored one goal.
Personal Life
Jérémie Aliadière has Swiss and Algerian family roots. He even has a tattoo of the flag of Algeria. He has said that Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger was like a father figure to him during his time at the club. They still keep in touch today.
