Jabalcón or Cerro Jabalcón is a cool mountain in Spain. It's located near the city of Baza in the Granada province. This mountain stands tall at 1,494 metres above sea level, which means how high it is compared to the ocean's surface.

At the bottom of Jabalcón, you'll find the Baños de Zújar, which are special baths in the town of Zújar. These baths are naturally heated by warm water coming from deep underground. The water stays warm, over 30°C, all year round! This is because of a natural heat source called a geothermal source.

On top of the mountain, there's a church where people can visit. You'll also see tall towers for television and other communication signals. Because the land around the mountain is quite flat, it's a popular spot for paragliders. They love to launch from the top and soar through the air!

What is Jabalcón made of?

Many people used to think that Jabalcón was an old volcano. This was because of its round, dome-like shape and the warm geothermal springs at its base. However, scientists know that Jabalcón is not a volcano at all.

It's actually an isolated limestone outcrop. This means it's a big piece of rock that sticks out from the ground. It's mostly made of a type of rock called dolomite. This rock is similar to what you'd find in the Sierra de Baza mountains, which are a bit further away.
