Jabari Price (born August 31, 1992) is an American former professional football player. He played as a cornerback, a defensive position, during his career. Jabari played college football for the North Carolina Tar Heels. He was chosen by the Minnesota Vikings in the seventh round of the 2014 NFL draft.

Jabari Price's Early Life and High School Football
Jabari Price was born on August 31, 1992, in Pompano Beach, Florida. His parents are Lalanda Price Sr. and Portia Williams. His grandmother, Ernestine Price, was an important community leader and worked for civil rights. Growing up, Jabari played youth football against another famous player from South Florida, Teddy Bridgewater.
High School Sports: Football and Track
Jabari went to Blanche Ely High School in Pompano Beach, Florida. There, he played both cornerback and free safety on the school's football team. He was teammates with Patrick Peterson, who also became a professional player.
During his junior year in 2008, Jabari made 39 tackles. He also broke up 10 passes, caught one interception, and caused one forced fumble. In his senior year, even though opponents rarely threw the ball his way, Jabari still managed to get five interceptions and break up 12 passes. He also had 39 tackles and caused five forced fumbles.
Jabari helped his team, the Ely Tigers, achieve an impressive 11–2 record. They reached the state 5A regionals, where they were defeated by St. Thomas Aquinas. After this great season, Jabari was named first-team all-county. He also earned third-team Class 5A all-state honors from the Sun Sentinel newspaper. He was also invited to play in the annual Dade vs. Broward County high school all-star game.
Besides football, Jabari was also a talented sprinter on Blanche Ely's track and field team. In 2008, he finished eighth in the 200 meters race and eighth in the 400-meter dash. At the FHSAA 4A District Meet, Jabari ran his fastest time in the 100-meter dash, finishing in 11.32 seconds. He also ran the third part of the 4 × 100 m relay team, helping them win the event with a time of 41.48 seconds. As a senior, he set a personal best in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.42 seconds. The Blanche Ely relay team was recognized as first-team all-county by the Miami Herald.
Academic Achievements
Jabari Price was also a great student. He was named an All-American Scholar by the United States Achievement Academy. This honor came after he achieved a perfect 4.0 grade point average.
College Recruiting Process
Jabari was considered a three-star recruit by most experts. Rivals rated him as the 83rd best cornerback in the country. He received 10 scholarship offers from different NCAA Division I colleges. These offers included schools like Minnesota and Rutgers. Jabari first said he would go to Minnesota. However, he later decided to play for the North Carolina Tar Heels. This allowed him to be closer to his home.

College Football Career at North Carolina
As a freshman at North Carolina, Jabari played in all 13 games as a cornerback. He started the last four games of the season. During this time, he made 20 tackles, broke up four passes, and caught one interception.
Before his sophomore season, Jabari hurt a tendon in his hand during practice. This injury required surgery. He missed the first four games of that season. Despite the injury, he still managed to record 16 tackles, break up two passes, and make one tackle for a loss.
Jabari had a very successful junior season. In 11 games, he made 76 tackles, which was the third-highest on his team. He also led the team with nine pass break-ups. Additionally, he had four tackles for loss, one sack, one forced fumble, and one interception.
In his senior year, Jabari started all 12 games. He recorded 74 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and nine pass break-ups. He also forced one fumble. For his strong performance, he earned an honorable mention for the All-Atlantic Coast Conference team.

Experts thought Jabari Price would be picked in the fifth to seventh round of the NFL draft. He was indeed selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the seventh round. He was the 225th player chosen overall in the 2014 NFL draft.
On May 16, 2014, the Vikings signed Jabari Price and another player, Kendall James, to their first professional contracts. Jabari agreed to a four-year contract worth about $2.28 million. As a rookie, Jabari played in 14 games. He recorded 10 tackles and mostly played on special teams, which are specific units for kicking plays.
