Jack Christopher Stamp Brooksbank (born 3 May 1986) is a British businessman. He is married to Princess Eugenie, a member of the British royal family and a niece of King Charles III.
Early life and family
Jack Brooksbank was born on 3 May 1986, at St Thomas' Hospital in London, England. He is the oldest son of George Brooksbank, who was a company director, and his wife, Nicola. He has a younger brother named Thomas.
Brooksbank's family has some historical connections to the British aristocracy. His family has a baronetcy, which is a hereditary title, and he is in line to inherit it one day. His great-grandfather, Sir John Spencer Coke, served as an usher for both King George VI and Queen Elizabeth II.
Education and career
Brooksbank attended Stowe School, a boarding school in Buckinghamshire. After finishing school, he went to the University of Bristol but left before completing his degree.
He began his career working in the hospitality industry, starting as a bartender. He later became the general manager of Mahiki, a popular nightclub in London. After that, he worked as a brand ambassador for Casamigos tequila, which means his job was to promote the brand.
In 2022, Brooksbank started a new job in Portugal. He now works in marketing and sales for a property development company.
Marriage and children
In 2011, Brooksbank started dating Princess Eugenie of York, the younger daughter of Prince Andrew, Duke of York, and Sarah, Duchess of York. They had met a year earlier while on holiday.
On 22 January 2018, Buckingham Palace officially announced their engagement. Their wedding was held on 12 October 2018, at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle, the same place where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were married.
When they married, Brooksbank did not receive a royal title, such as Earl. This follows a modern trend where commoners who marry into the royal family do not automatically get a title.
The couple has two sons.
- August Philip Hawke Brooksbank was born on 9 February 2021.
- Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank was born on 30 May 2023.
