Jack Edward Larson (born February 8, 1928 – died September 20, 2015) was an American actor, writer, and producer. He is most famous for playing the role of Jimmy Olsen. Jimmy Olsen was a young photographer and cub reporter on the TV show Adventures of Superman.

Jack Larson's Early Life and Career
Jack Larson was born in Los Angeles, California, on February 8, 1928. His mother, Anita, worked for Western Union. His father, George, was a milk truck driver. Jack grew up in Pasadena. He finished high school at Montebello High School in 1945 when he was 17 years old.
Playing Jimmy Olsen in Adventures of Superman
Larson became very well-known for playing Jimmy Olsen. This role made him famous, but it also made it hard for him to get other acting jobs. People often saw him only as the innocent young Jimmy Olsen. Because of this, he did not act much after Adventures of Superman ended in 1958.
Larson then started focusing on writing and producing. He wrote plays, stories for operas (called librettos), and movie scripts. He also produced films like The Baby Maker.
Later Views on the Jimmy Olsen Role
As he got older, Jack Larson's feelings about playing Jimmy Olsen changed. He began to appreciate how much people loved the character. He was always happy to talk about the Superman TV series.
Larson also made special guest appearances in other Superman-related shows and movies. These appearances were a way to honor his famous role.

- In 1991, he appeared in an episode of the TV show Superboy. He was with Noel Neill, who played Lois Lane in the original Adventures of Superman.

- He was in a late 1990s American Express commercial called The Adventures of Seinfeld & Superman.
- In 2006, he appeared in the movie Superman Returns. He played a bartender named Bo. Bo wore a bowtie, which was a special part of Larson's Jimmy Olsen character.
- Larson's last TV appearance was in an episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit in 2010.
Larson also wrote the story for an opera called Lord Byron. The music for this opera was written by Virgil Thomson.
Jack Larson's Personal Life
Jack Larson had a long-term partner, director James Bridges. They were together from 1958 until Bridges passed away in 1993.
Larson lived in a special house designed by the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. This house was in Brentwood, Los Angeles, California. He lived there until he died.
Jack Larson passed away on September 20, 2015, when he was 87 years old. He was buried at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, California.
