Jonathan Walders (born in 1881 – died on 13 January 1924) was an English professional footballer. He played as an outside right for clubs like Burnley in the Football League. People described him as a very experienced player who was good at dribbling and passing the ball accurately.
Jonathan Walders' Football Career
Jonathan Walders started his football journey with Barrow, which was a club outside the main professional league. In 1903, he joined Burnley, a team in the Second Division.
He played 48 league games for Burnley and scored two goals. After leaving Burnley in 1906, he moved to Oldham Athletic. He stayed there for one season. Later, he played for other clubs outside the top leagues, including Luton Town and Chorley.

Jonathan joined the army in 1899. He served in different places like Malta, Crete, and Gibraltar. In February 1903, he returned to Britain.
When World War I began in 1914, he rejoined his army group, the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. He was sent to fight on the Western Front in France in August 1914.
On 22 December 1914, Jonathan Walders was captured by German forces. He remained a prisoner of war until 6 September 1918. This was just two months before the war officially ended. He left the army in February 1919.
