Jacqueline Ruth Weaver (born on 25 May 1947) is a talented Australian actress. She has starred in many plays, movies, and TV shows. Jacki became well-known in the 1970s for her roles in Australian films.
Some of her early movies include Stork (1971), Alvin Purple (1973), and Petersen (1974). She also appeared in the famous film Picnic at Hanging Rock (1975). Jacki has won several awards for her acting, including the AACTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role.

Early Life
Jacki Weaver was born in Sydney, Australia. Her mother, Edith, came from England. Her father, Arthur Weaver, was a lawyer in Sydney.
She went to Hornsby Girls' High School and was the top student in her class. Jacki won a scholarship to study sociology at university. However, she decided to follow her dream of becoming an actress instead.

Starting Out (1960s-2000s)
Jacki Weaver began her acting career in Australia in the 1960s. She worked in film, on stage, and on television. In 1963, when she was just 16, she performed in an ABC TV show called Hansel and Gretel.
In 1971, Jacki made her first big movie appearance in the comedy Stork. She won her first Australian Film Institute Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for this role. She also appeared in Alvin Purple (1973) and Petersen (1974).
Jacki played a supporting role in the mystery film Picnic at Hanging Rock (1975). She had a bigger role in Caddie (1976), which earned her another Australian Film Institute Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, she continued to appear in many TV shows and movies.
During the 1990s and early 2000s, Jacki focused a lot on theatre. She performed in over 80 plays, including famous ones like A Streetcar Named Desire and Death of a Salesman. Her talent on stage was recognized with a "Mo" award. In 2005, she wrote a book about her life called Much Love, Jac.
