Jacob Evans III (born June 18, 1997) is an American professional basketball player. He currently plays for BK Redstone Olomoucko in the Czech Republic's NBL and the Alpe Adria Cup. He also played for the Santa Cruz Warriors in the NBA G League.
Before turning pro, Jacob played college basketball for the Cincinnati Bearcats. In 2018, during his junior year, he was named to the first-team All-American Athletic Conference (AAC). The Golden State Warriors picked him in the first round of the 2018 NBA draft as the 28th overall player.
College Basketball Journey
Jacob Evans was a highly-rated player coming out of high school in 2015. He was considered a "four-star prospect." He played as a guard for the Cincinnati Bearcats.
Freshman and Sophomore Years
When he was a freshman, Jacob played off the bench. He scored about 8.4 points per game. In his second year, as a sophomore, his scoring improved a lot. He averaged 13.5 points per game.
Junior Year Success
As a junior, Jacob had a fantastic season. He was named first-team All-AAC. His teammate, Gary Clark, also received this honor. Jacob was even a finalist for the Julius Erving Small Forward of the Year Award. This award goes to the best small forward in college basketball.
In the NCAA tournament, Jacob scored 19 points in one game. This was against Nevada. Even though he played well, his team lost a close game. For the season, Jacob averaged 13.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game. He helped the Bearcats win 31 games and get a high seed in the NCAA tournament. After this successful season, he decided to enter the 2018 NBA draft.

Golden State Warriors (2018–2020)
The Golden State Warriors chose Jacob Evans as the 28th pick in the 2018 NBA draft. He signed with the team on July 2, 2018. In his first year, the Warriors made it to the 2019 NBA Finals. However, they lost to the Toronto Raptors in six games.
On October 24, 2019, Jacob scored his career-high 14 points. This was in a game against the Los Angeles Clippers.
Minnesota Timberwolves (2020)
On February 6, 2020, Jacob was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves. This trade was part of a bigger deal involving Andrew Wiggins. Later that year, on November 24, 2020, he was traded to the New York Knicks. The Knicks then decided to release him on December 9.
NBA G League Teams
Jacob has also played in the NBA G League, which is like a development league for the NBA.
- Erie BayHawks (2021): On January 26, 2021, Jacob signed with the Erie BayHawks. He was released shortly after.
- Santa Cruz Warriors (2021–2022): On February 23, 2021, Jacob joined the Santa Cruz Warriors. He played four games for them at the end of the season. He later signed with an Israeli team, Hapoel Eilat B.C., but was released before playing. He then rejoined the Santa Cruz Warriors.
Edmonton Stingers (2024)
On May 9, 2024, Jacob signed with the Edmonton Stingers. This team plays in the Canadian Elite Basketball League.
BK Olomoucko (2024–Present)
On November 20, 2024, Jacob Evans signed with BK Redstone Olomoucko. This team is part of the National Basketball League in the Czech Republic.
