Jaden Amere Hardy (born July 5, 2002) is a talented American professional basketball player. He plays as a shooting guard for the Dallas Mavericks in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Before joining the NBA, Jaden was considered one of the best young players in the 2021 group of recruits.

Jaden Hardy's Journey in Basketball

Growing Up and High School

Jaden Hardy was born in Detroit, Michigan. Before he started high school, his family moved to Henderson, Nevada. He went to Coronado High School there.

During his junior year, Jaden was amazing on the court. He scored an average of 30.4 points per game. He also grabbed 9.1 rebounds and made 8.4 assists per game. Because of his great performance, he won the Nevada Gatorade Player of the Year award. He was also named the Las Vegas Review-Journal Boys Athlete of the Year.

In January 2021, Jaden decided to stop playing his senior high school season early. He was chosen to play in several important games for top high school players. These included the McDonald's All-American Game, the Jordan Brand Classic, and the Nike Hoop Summit.

Starting His Professional Journey

Many experts believed Jaden was one of the top young basketball players in 2021. They thought he would become a professional player instead of going to college. Some thought he might play for famous college teams like Kentucky or UCLA.

However, Jaden made a big decision on May 15, 2021. He announced that he would join the NBA G League instead of playing college basketball. The G League is a special league where players can develop their skills. He chose this path over offers from many colleges.

Playing for the G League Ignite

On June 9, 2021, Jaden Hardy officially joined the NBA G League Ignite. This team helps young players get ready for the NBA. During his time with the Ignite, he showed his skills. He averaged 17.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game.

Joining the Dallas Mavericks

Jaden's dream of playing in the NBA came true in the 2022 NBA draft. He was picked 37th overall by the Sacramento Kings. However, on the same night, he was traded to the Dallas Mavericks.

He joined the Mavericks for the 2022 NBA Summer League. In his first Summer League game on July 7, 2022, Jaden scored 28 points. He also had four rebounds and three assists. This was a great start, even though his team lost by one point to the Chicago Bulls.

On February 6, 2023, Jaden had his best game yet. He scored a career-high 29 points in a win against the Utah Jazz. On March 11, he started his first NBA game. He scored 22 points in a close game against the Memphis Grizzlies.

In 2024, Jaden and the Dallas Mavericks made it all the way to the 2024 NBA Finals. They played against the Boston Celtics. The Mavericks played hard, but they lost the series in five games. Jaden continues to be an important part of the Mavericks team.

His Basketball Family

Basketball runs in Jaden Hardy's family. His older brother, Amauri, also played college basketball. Amauri played for both UNLV and the University of Oregon. Jaden's father, Ramsey, was also a basketball player. He played for Tuskegee University.
