Jaeden Martell (born Jaeden Lieberher on January 4, 2003) is an American actor. He started acting when he was a child. Some of his early roles were in the movies St. Vincent (2014) and Midnight Special (2016). For his role in St. Vincent, he was nominated for a special award for young performers.
Jaeden became very well-known after playing Bill Denbrough in the scary movies It (2017) and It Chapter Two (2019). These movies were very popular. He also starred in other horror films like The Lodge (2019) and Mr. Harrigan's Phone (2022). Jaeden also had a role in the mystery movie Knives Out (2019). He played a teenager accused of a crime in the TV series Defending Jacob (2020). More recently, he has been in comedy films like Metal Lords (2022) and Y2K (2024).

Jaeden Martell was born on January 4, 2003. His birthplace was Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His father, Wes Lieberher, is a chef. His mother is Angela Teresa Martell. Jaeden's grandmother on his mother's side is Korean. He lived in South Philadelphia until he was eight years old. Then, his family moved to Los Angeles, California.
Jaeden's Acting Journey
Starting Out in Acting (2014-2016)
For the first six years of his acting career, Jaeden used his father's last name, Lieberher. In 2019, he decided to start using his mother's maiden name, Martell.
Jaeden's very first acting job was in a commercial for Hot Wheels toys. After that, he appeared in several other commercials. These included ads for big companies like Google and Hyundai. His first major movie role was in 2014. He starred in the film St. Vincent alongside famous actor Bill Murray. Jaeden's performance in this movie was highly praised. He even received a nomination for the Critics' Choice Movie Award for Best Young Performer.
In 2015, Jaeden appeared in the movie Aloha. Bill Murray had suggested him for the role. His next two movies came out in 2016. These were the science fiction film Midnight Special and the comedy The Confirmation. In Midnight Special, Jaeden played a boy with special powers. His character was on the run with his father from the government.
Becoming a Star with It (2017-Present)
In 2017, Jaeden starred in the thriller The Book of Henry. He played the main character, Henry. While the movie got mixed reviews, many people liked Jaeden's acting. Later that year, he took on the role of Bill Denbrough in the scary movie It. This film was a huge success. It earned over $701 million worldwide. This made It Jaeden's first big hit movie.
He played Bill again in the sequel, It Chapter Two, which came out in 2019. This movie also did very well at the box office. It made over $473 million.
Besides It Chapter Two, Jaeden had four other movies released in 2019. One was the horror film The Lodge. He also appeared in the drama Low Tide and the fantasy film The True Adventures of Wolfboy. His last movie of 2019 was the mystery comedy Knives Out. In this film, Jaeden played Jacob Thrombey.
In 2019, Jaeden also joined the cast of the Apple TV+ TV series Defending Jacob. This show was based on a popular book. In 2021, he voiced Morty Smith in some special short videos for the TV show Rick and Morty. In 2022, he starred in the Netflix movie Metal Lords.
