Jago (born Jago Silver on November 12, 1979) is a talented British artist. He is famous for illustrating children's books. Jago studied art at Falmouth College of Art from 2000 to 2003. He creates amazing digital illustrations for many publishers. These include Barefoot Books, Oxford University Press, Mantra Lingua, and Zondervan.

One of Jago's most well-known works is The Jesus Storybook Bible. He illustrated this popular book, which was written by Sally Lloyd-Jones. It has sold over two million copies worldwide. The book is available in 19 different languages. In 2015, it was even listed among the top 100 best-selling books by the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA).

In September 2014, Jago showed his art at an exhibition. It was called The Cruel & Curious Sea. This event took place in the old barns of Stowe Barton in North Cornwall. The National Trust looks after these barns.

Awards for Jago's Art

Jago's illustrations have won many important awards. These awards show how much people appreciate his beautiful artwork.

  • The Jesus Storybook Bible received the 2010 ALA Notable Award.
  • It also won the 2009 NAPPA Award.
  • In 2007, The Jesus Storybook Bible earned a Gold Moonbeam Children's Book Award. This was from Independent Publisher.
  • "Nachshon, Who Was Afraid to Swim" received the Sydney Taylor Honour Award for Young Readers.
  • This same book also won the National Jewish Book Award for Young Readers.
  • Myron's Magic Cow was chosen for the 2006 White Ravens list. This list highlights special children's books.
  • Jago also won the NLA Wow! Award in 2006.
  • He received the AOI Silver Award in 2004. This was in the Student Section of the AOI Images 28 Annual.
