Jaime Domínguez Buj joined the Spanish Army in 1970. He held many different jobs during his career. These included roles in international affairs and within the Army's main staff. He also advised the Second Chief of Staff of the Army.

Military Training and Education

He graduated from the General Staff. This means he received special training to become a high-ranking officer. He also studied anti-aircraft artillery, which involves systems for finding targets. He learned about the laws of war and how to manage people. He even earned a Master's Degree in International Relations.

Early Army Assignments

His first job was at a training center in Alicante. Later, he served as a gunner in places like El Aaiún (Sahara) and Ceuta. He also worked in Cartagena, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and Paterna. These experiences helped him become a captain. As a Commander, he joined the General Staff of the "Maestrazgo" No. 3 Mechanized Division.

Important Roles and Promotions

Later, Jaime Domínguez Buj worked in the General Directorate of Defense Policy. He also worked in the Minister of Defense's office. As a colonel in 2001, he led the 73rd Anti-Aircraft Artillery Regiment. This regiment was based in Cartagena.

He was promoted to general in 2004. He then became Secretary General of the Army Training and Doctrine Command. He also led the Operations Division of the Army General Staff. In 2010, he became a lieutenant general.
