Jain Kim (Hangul: 김자인, born September 11, 1988) is a famous professional climber from South Korea. She is known for her amazing skills in competition climbing. This type of climbing involves athletes competing to climb difficult routes on artificial walls.
Jain Kim is especially good at two kinds of competition climbing: competition lead climbing and competition bouldering. In lead climbing, climbers try to reach the highest point on a tall wall while being attached to a rope. In bouldering, they climb shorter, harder routes without ropes, using thick mats for safety. She has won many big competitions, including the Lead Climbing World Cup three times and the Lead Climbing World Championship once. She has also won the Asian Championships a remarkable 14 times!
Besides competing indoors, Jain Kim has also climbed very difficult routes outdoors on real rock. In 2014, she successfully climbed two routes in Italy called Bibita Biologica and Reini's Vibes, which are known to be extremely challenging.
