Jacob Allen Abel (born November 18, 1987), known as Jake Abel, is an American actor. He is famous for his roles in movies based on popular young adult books. These include the Percy Jackson films (2010–2013), I Am Number Four (2011), and The Host (2013).
Jake also played musician Mike Love in the movie Love & Mercy (2014). On TV, he had a repeating role as Adam Milligan in the CW series Supernatural (2009–2010; 2019–2020). He was also a main actor in the first season of the Netflix science fiction show Another Life (2019).

Jake Abel was born in Canton, Ohio, in the United States. His parents are Kim and Mike Abel. He has one brother named Shaun.
Jake married Allie Wood, who is a writer, on November 9, 2013. Together, they released a music album called Black Magic in March 2013.
In February 2021, Jake and Allie welcomed their first son. In October 2023, they had another son.
Jake Abel's Acting Career
Jake Abel's first acting job was in the Disney Channel Original Movie Go Figure. In this movie, he played a character named Spencer. After that, he had a repeating guest role in the science fiction TV series Threshold on CBS.
Early Roles and Recognition
Jake also appeared as a guest star in many other TV shows. These included Cold Case and ER. In October 2008, he received a special award. He was honored with a Rising Star award at the 16th Hamptons International Film Festival. This award was for his work in the movie Flash of Genius.
In 2009, Jake had a small part in the movie The Lovely Bones. This film was based on a popular novel by Alice Sebold. He also had a regular role in a web series called Angel of Death, which had 10 episodes.
Big Roles in Popular Shows and Movies
In February 2009, Jake Abel joined the cast of The CW's hit show Supernatural. He played Adam Milligan. Adam was the half-brother to the main characters, Dean and Sam Winchester. Jake appeared in three episodes, playing both Adam and the Archangel Michael who took over Adam's body.
In 2010, Jake got a big role in the movie Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. He played Luke Castellan, a key character. This movie came out on February 12, 2010. He later returned as Luke in the sequel, Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Sea of Monsters, which was released on August 7, 2013.
After the Percy Jackson movies, Jake starred in the live-action film I Am Number Four in 2011. In this movie, he played Mark James. Jake also starred in the social thriller movie Inside with Emmy Rossum. This film was released on July 25, 2011. He also appeared on ABC's medical drama Grey's Anatomy. He was in the episode "Poker Face", playing Tyler Moser.
Later Film and TV Projects
In 2012, Jake Abel was chosen for another important role. He played Ian O'Shea in the movie The Host (2013). This film was based on the book by Stephenie Meyer.
Jake returned to his role on Supernatural for the show's final season. He appeared in two episodes of the fifteenth season.
In 2020, Jake Abel was chosen to be the voice narrator for the audiobook of Midnight Sun. This book was also written by Stephenie Meyer and was published on August 4, 2020.
In November 2022, it was announced that Jake would join the cast of the TV series Walker. This meant he would work again with Jared Padalecki, who also starred in Supernatural. Jake's character, Kevin, first appeared in episode 6 of season 3.
