Jalen Jones (born May 27, 1993) is an American professional basketball player. He plays as a small forward or power forward. He last played for the Converge FiberXers in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). Before becoming a pro, he played college basketball for the SMU Mustangs and the Texas A&M Aggies.

Jalen Jones's Early Basketball Journey
Jalen Jones started his basketball journey in high school. He first went to Mansfield Timberview High School. During his junior year, he was a star player. He scored about 18.8 points and grabbed 9.8 rebounds per game. Because of his great performance, he was chosen for the first team all-district and first team all-region.
Later, for his senior year, he moved to Justin F. Kimball High School. There, he continued to play well, averaging 18.0 points and 9.0 rebounds. He was also named to the 2011 all-state tournament team.
College Basketball Career
After high school, Jalen Jones began his college basketball career. He first played for Southern Methodist University. In his second year there, he averaged 14 points and 7 rebounds per game.
He then took a year off from playing (called a "redshirt" year) and moved to Texas A&M. In his junior year at Texas A&M, he was named to the second-team All-SEC. He and his teammate Danuel House helped lead the Aggies to the NIT tournament.
In his senior year, Jalen was recognized as a first-team All-SEC player by the coaches. The Aggies also made it to the NCAA Tournament that year. During his final season at Texas A&M, he averaged 15 points and 7 rebounds per game.
Professional Basketball Career
Starting in the G League (2016–2017)
After college, Jalen Jones was not chosen in the 2016 NBA draft. However, he joined the Toronto Raptors for the 2016 NBA Summer League. He played five games, averaging 3.2 points and 2.0 rebounds.
In September 2016, he signed with the Boston Celtics. But he was later waived in October. On October 31, the Maine Red Claws of the NBA Development League picked him up. He played well for the Red Claws.
Time in the NBA (2017–2019)
Jalen signed a special "two-way contract" with the New Orleans Pelicans in August 2017. This meant he could play for both the Pelicans and their G-League team, the Greensboro Swarm. He was waived by the Pelicans in January 2018.
Soon after, he signed another two-way contract with the Dallas Mavericks in January 2018. He split his time between the Mavericks and their G League team, the Texas Legends. He was waived by the Mavericks in July 2018.
In December 2018, Jalen signed a two-way contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers. He played for both the Cavaliers and their G League team, the Canton Charge. He was waived by the Cavaliers in January 2019.
Playing Overseas and G League Return (2019–2023)
After his time in the NBA, Jalen moved to Europe. In January 2019, he signed with Kirolbet Baskonia in Spain, which plays in the Liga ACB and the EuroLeague.
In October 2019, he briefly signed with the Washington Wizards before joining the Capital City Go-Go in the NBA G League. He had strong performances, including a 30-point game in November. He averaged 19 points and 8 rebounds per game for the Go-Go.
In November 2020, Jalen signed with Pallacanestro Varese in Italy. Unfortunately, he had a serious injury to his Achilles tendon, which ended his season early.
He returned to play in January 2022, signing with JL Bourg in France. In July 2022, he moved to Israel to play for Hapoel Haifa. In January 2023, he joined U-BT Cluj-Napoca in Romania, where he helped them win the Romanian League and the Romanian Basketball Cup. In October 2023, he signed with Cholet in France.
Recent Career (2024)
In June 2024, Jalen signed with the Spartans Distrito Capital in Venezuela. Later, in September 2024, he joined the Converge FiberXers in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He was signed to replace an injured player. In December 2024, he briefly signed with a Greek club, Kolossos Rodou, but was released soon after.

Jalen Jones is the son of Reginald and Yolanda Jones. In college, he studied leadership.
