Jamie-Lynn Sigler (born May 15, 1981) is an American actress and singer. She is most famous for playing Meadow Soprano on the popular HBO television show The Sopranos from 1999 to 2007.

Early Life and Family

Jamie-Lynn Sigler was born in Jericho, New York. Her parents are Steve and Connie Sigler, and she has two older brothers, Adam and Brian. Her father started a baseball league for adults called the Men's Senior Baseball League.

Sigler's family has a diverse background. Her father's family is of Greek-Jewish and Romanian-Jewish heritage. Her mother is of Cuban descent and converted to Judaism when she married Sigler's father. Sigler grew up in the Jewish faith. She went to Jericho High School and also studied acting and singing at the Cultural Arts Playhouse.

Acting and Singing Career

Breakthrough with 'The Sopranos'

In 1997, at the age of 16, Sigler was cast in her most famous role as Meadow Soprano. She played the daughter of New Jersey crime boss Tony Soprano on the hit HBO show The Sopranos. She played Meadow for the entire series, until it ended in 2007. The show was a huge success and made her a star.

Stage and Film Roles

Besides her work on television, Sigler has also performed on stage. In 2001, she played the lead role in the musical Cinderella. She later starred on Broadway as Belle in the musical Beauty and the Beast from 2002 to 2003.

Sigler has appeared in several movies. In 2004, she starred in the TV movie Call Me: The Rise and Fall of Heidi Fleiss. She also had roles in films like Love Wrecked (2005) and Homie Spumoni (2006).

Other Television Work

After The Sopranos, Sigler continued to act in many TV shows. She had a recurring role on the HBO series Entourage from 2008 to 2009, where she played a version of herself. She also appeared in shows like How I Met Your Mother, Ugly Betty, and the comedy Guys with Kids.

More recently, she had a main role as Tonya Walsh in the drama series Big Sky.

Music and Writing

In 2001, Sigler released a pop music album called Here to Heaven. The next year, she co-wrote a book about her life called Wise Girl: What I've Learned About Life, Love, and Loss.

Family and Relationships

Sigler married her former manager, A.J. DiScala, in 2003, but they divorced in 2006.

In 2012, she began dating baseball player Cutter Dykstra. They got engaged in 2013 and married in 2016. The couple has two sons, born in 2013 and 2018.

In 2008, Sigler went on a trip to Israel with the Birthright Israel program. She said the experience helped her connect more deeply with her Jewish heritage.

Living with Multiple Sclerosis

In 2016, Sigler shared that she had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) when she was 20 years old. MS is a disease that affects the brain and spinal cord, which can make it hard to move. She first experienced symptoms in 2000 when she was temporarily unable to move her legs from the waist down.

She kept her condition private for many years but decided to speak out to inspire others. In 2024, she started a podcast with actress Christina Applegate, who also has MS. The podcast, called MeSsy, is about their friendship and their experiences living with the disease.
