Jamie-Lynn Sigler (born May 15, 1981) is a well-known American actress. Many people know her best for playing Meadow Soprano in the TV show The Sopranos. She was on this popular HBO series from 1999 to 2007.

Early Life and Beginnings
Jamie-Lynn Sigler was born in Jericho, New York, on May 15, 1981. Her parents are Steve and Connie Sigler. She has two brothers, Adam and Brian. Her father started the Men's Senior Baseball League. Jamie-Lynn's family background is quite diverse. Her father's family has Jewish roots from Greece and Jewish roots from Romania. Her mother's family comes from Cuba.
Jamie-Lynn's mother was raised Catholic. She later became Jewish when she married Jamie-Lynn's father. Jamie-Lynn started acting and singing when she was just seven years old. She went to Jericho High School. She also studied acting at the Cultural Arts Playhouse in Old Bethpage, New York. Jamie-Lynn briefly attended New York University. However, she left after her first semester because her acting schedule was too busy.
Acting Career Highlights
Starting with The Sopranos
In 1997, Jamie-Lynn Sigler got a big role. She was cast as Meadow Soprano in the HBO series The Sopranos. Meadow was the daughter of a New Jersey mob boss named Tony Soprano. When her manager first told her about the audition, Jamie-Lynn thought she would have to sing a "soprano" part. She played this important role until the show ended in 2007.
Broadway and Film Roles
In 2001, Sigler played the main character in Cinderella. She performed this musical on tour and at The Theatre at Madison Square Garden. After that, she spent five months on Broadway. From October 2002 to February 2003, she played Belle in the musical Beauty and the Beast.
In 2004, Sigler starred in a TV movie for the USA channel. It was called Call Me: The Rise and Fall of Heidi Fleiss. She played the role of "Hollywood Madam" Heidi Fleiss. That same year, she had her first main role in a movie. It was an independent film called Extreme Dating. In 2005, Sigler starred in Love Wrecked. The next year, she was in Homie Spumoni. In that movie, she played Alli, the girlfriend of Renato/Leroy.
Television Guest Appearances
In 2008, Sigler appeared as herself in 13 episodes of the HBO series Entourage. In the fifth season, she played the love interest of a character named Sal 'Turtle' Assante. She came back for season six as a guest star. This happened after she started dating Jerry Ferrara, the actor who played Turtle, in real life. On November 17, 2008, Sigler was a guest star on How I Met Your Mother. She played Jillian in the episode "Woooo!". She also appeared on Saturday Night Live on December 6, 2008. She was the checkout girl in the music video "Jizz in My Pants" by The Lonely Island.
In 2009, Sigler starred in a thriller movie called Beneath the Dark. The same year, she appeared on ABC's Ugly Betty for five episodes. Personal Life and Health
Sigler met Abraxas "A.J." DiScala when she was 19 years old. He became her manager. They started dating just before she turned 21. They got married on July 11, 2003. After marrying, she changed her name to Jamie-Lynn DiScala. They separated in September 2005, and she began using her maiden name again. She then dated restaurateur Scott Sartiano from 2006 to 2008.
In 2008, Sigler visited Israel through a program called Birthright Israel. She was very touched by the trip. She called Israel "one of the most beautiful, inspiring places [she's] ever been to." She said the trip helped her understand her Jewish background better. Also in 2008, she started a relationship with actor Jerry Ferrara. They met when she was a guest star on Entourage. She played a love interest of Ferrara's character. They broke up in 2009. She later dated football player Mark Sanchez.
In 2012, Sigler began dating baseball player Cutter Dykstra. He is the son of former Major League Baseball player Lenny Dykstra. They got engaged on January 28, 2013. In February 2013, they announced they were expecting their first child. Sigler gave birth to their first son on August 28, 2013. They got married in Palm Springs, California, on January 16, 2016. The couple had their second son on January 15, 2018.
In January 2016, Sigler shared that she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis when she was 20 years old. Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a condition that affects the brain and spinal cord. In 2000, while filming a movie, Sigler experienced a temporary loss of movement in her legs for several days. This symptom was later understood to be related to MS. However, at the time, it was thought to be Lyme disease. In 2023, a company called Novartis asked Sigler to be in a TV commercial for their MS medicine, Kesimpta.
