Jan Polák (born on March 14, 1981) is a former Czech football player. He played as a midfielder. His amazing career lasted for 22 years. During this time, he played for many football clubs, including some in Germany and Belgium.
Polák also proudly represented the Czech Republic national football team. He played in big tournaments like the 2006 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 2008.

Playing Career Highlights
Early Days and Youth Success
Jan Polák started playing football when he was young. He played for teams like FC Zbrojovka Brno and Tatran Bohunice. He was also a key player for the Czech national under-21 team.
In 2002, Polák was part of a special team that won the UEFA European Under-21 Championship. This team included other famous players like Petr Čech and Milan Baroš. Jan Polák holds a record for the most games played for the Czech Republic under-21 team, with 45 appearances.
Moving to Top Clubs
In 2005, Polák moved from the Czech team FC Slovan Liberec to a German team called 1. FC Nürnberg. This was a big move for him. In the same year, he also started playing for the main Czech national team.
On August 3, 2007, a famous Belgian club, Anderlecht, bought Polák. He was given the number 8 jersey. This transfer was one of the most expensive in Anderlecht's history at the time.
