Jana Rae Kramer (born December 2, 1983) is an American actress and country singer. She is well-known for playing Alex Dupre on the TV show One Tree Hill.

Jana started her music career in 2012. She has released two albums: Jana Kramer (2012) and Thirty One (2015). These albums featured popular songs like "Why Ya Wanna" and "I Got the Boy". She also competed on Dancing with the Stars in 2016, where she finished in fourth place.

Early Life and Beginnings

Jana Rae Kramer was born on December 2, 1983, in Rochester Hills, Michigan. Her parents are Nora and Martin Kramer. She has an older brother named Steve. Jana also knows some German.

She went to Rochester Adams High School and graduated in 2002. After high school, Jana moved to Los Angeles to start her acting career. Later, she moved to Nashville, Tennessee, which is a big city for country music.

Jana Kramer began acting in 2002 in a movie called Dead/Undead. The next year, she appeared on the TV show All My Children. Since then, she has been in many other TV shows. These include CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, and CSI: NY.

She also had small parts in movies like Click and Prom Night.

In 2007, Jana had a recurring role on the TV show Friday Night Lights. She played a character named Noelle Davenport. In 2008, she appeared in 90210, playing Portia Ranson for six episodes.

In 2009, Jana joined the cast of One Tree Hill. She played Alex Dupre, an actress who causes some drama in the town of Tree Hill. Her role started as a recurring one but soon became a main character. In 2012, Jana decided to focus more on her music. So, she made her last regular appearance on One Tree Hill in January 2012.

In February 2011, Jana Kramer signed a music deal with Elektra Records. She then released a song called "I Won't Give Up". This song was featured on One Tree Hill and became popular online. It reached number 75 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.

The next month, she started working on her first album. A famous country music producer, Scott Hendricks, helped create most of the songs. In April 2011, she released another song called "Whiskey", which she also performed on One Tree Hill.

On January 16, 2012, Jana released her first official single, "Why Ya Wanna". The music video for the song came out in February 2012. This song became a big hit, reaching number 3 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

On June 1, 2012, Jana performed "Why Ya Wanna" live on Fox & Friends to promote her new album. Her self-titled debut album, Jana Kramer, was released on June 5, 2012. Critics liked the album and praised Jana's singing.

In 2013, Jana also appeared in commercials for Nationwide Insurance. She sang their jingle and played a character who replaced stolen items with new ones.

Recent Projects

In 2024, Jana Kramer starred in the Lifetime movie Gaslit By My Husband: The Morgan Metzer Story. She also helped produce the movie. This film is based on a true story.

Also in 2024, Jana competed on The Masked Singer as "Royal Knight". She was eliminated during the "Group C Finals" episode.

Jana Kramer has been married several times. She married Michael Gambino in 2004, but they divorced a few months later. On July 4, 2010, she married actor Johnathon Schaech, but they separated a month later and divorced in 2011.

In 2012, Jana met country singer Brantley Gilbert. They got engaged in 2013 but later ended their relationship.

In 2014, Jana started dating Washington Redskins player Mike Caussin. They got engaged in December 2014 and married on May 22, 2015. They welcomed their daughter on January 31, 2016. They later had a son on November 29, 2018. Jana and Mike divorced in July 2021.

In January 2023, Jana confirmed her relationship with Allan Russell, a former Scottish soccer player. They got engaged in May 2023 and announced they were expecting a child in June 2023. Their son was born on November 13, 2023. Jana and Allan married on July 13, 2024, in Scotland.

Dancing with the Stars

In August 2016, Jana Kramer was announced as a contestant on season 23 of Dancing with the Stars. Her professional dance partner was Gleb Savchenko. Jana and Gleb made it to the finals and finished in 4th place.
