The Japanese dragonet (Neosynchiropus ijimae) is a cool type of fish called a dragonet. It lives in the northwestern Pacific Ocean, especially near Japan and South Korea.

You can find these colorful fish swimming around coral or rocky reefs. They like water that is about 10 to 20 meters (around 33 to 66 feet) deep. The water temperature they prefer is usually between 18 and 22 degrees Celsius (about 64 to 72 degrees Fahrenheit).

Japanese dragonets are also sometimes kept in home aquariums because of their beautiful looks. These fish are quite small, growing to about 7 centimeters (2.8 inches) long from snout to the base of the tail, and up to 10 centimeters (4 inches) including the tail.

Where the Japanese Dragonet Lives
